Hey, ja1b1rd11!

I'm deplorable to run across whatever speed problems on the Xbox 360! Information technology does look like you lot're wireless. Do you have the wireless adapter for the 360, or is it the 360 South or East that has the internal wifi adapter?

I'chiliad going to list a lot of things that's in that troubleshooter if you are meeting the requirements. Since you don't meet our minimum requirements, that period sends you to your ISP, and I just want to get a experience for what you've done. If you haven't done anything mentioned, give it a shot.

  • Go wired if yous can.
  • Change the wireless channel on your router.
  • Practise you have any wireless Turtle Beach headsets for the Xbox 360? Unplug the receiver if you lot do.
  • Do a full power cycle on both your network devices and the panel.
    • This is done past restoring your network settings to mill defaults in theConfigure Network section. Then turn off the panel.Yous will need to know your wireless password if yous do this.
    • Unplug your router, then your modem. (If you only have a router, condone modem steps.)
    • Wait 5 minutes.
    • Plug in your modem. Wait for it to fully load.
    • Plug in your router. Wait for it to fully load.
    • Turn on your panel.
    • Set up your wireless connection again.
  • Check if you take any firewall settings that could exist blocking traffic.
  • Gear up the console up in DMZ on your router.
  • Wire direct into your modem to dominion out whatever router issues.

There's a lot that can be washed with that. If you take issues with doing whatsoever of this, post dorsum with your network device data. I will demand your router's manufacturer and model number, and the same for your modem. From there, I can help determine if in that location's a known result with those devices. Information technology'll too help me if I need to walk you through changing whatsoever settings in there. :)

Permit me know how it goes, or if you've already gone through these steps and what else you've tried! Get me those network device details in that instance. I await frontwards to working with you!

I take the Xbox 360 with internal WiFi. Streaming used to piece of work fine a few months agone. I have a couple of theories.

1. There was an Xbox 360 software update a few months agone, then streaming became poor. I don't retrieve the software version that streaming worked on, but it was about vi months ago that the update happened.

2. I may have some neighbors motility in nearby recently who have WiFi routers, PCs, smartphones, etc., so there might be more than interference in my neighborhood, which is affecting streaming.

Cheers for the response, ja1b1rd11! Are you able to confirm the rest of the steps I provided have been completed? If so, become me the details for your network devices so that I can ensure there are no known issues with them. :)

At that place'south nothing wrong with my router. My smart TV that the Xbox 360 is connected to works fine. It can stream videos without any issues. Also, a DVD role player with built-in Wi-Fi connected to the TV works fine and it can stream videos. I did a speedtest from my PC and I am getting 25Mbps upload and download, and then my internet connectedness is fine. The Xbox 360 is the problem. My network settings don't demand whatsoever irresolute. Like I said, information technology used to work fine a few months ago, then after an Xbox software update, streaming broke. The problem is Microsoft's, non mine.

Thanks for the clarification, ja1b1rd11! Apologies for the delay in getting back to yous; it was a long holiday weekend for me.

Once you're able to exam out the things I suggested, nosotros'll exist able to look into other options nosotros might take. Because the network speeds listed in your screenshot exercise not meet minimum requirements for the Xbox Live service, as indicated in the support catamenia you linked to, the menstruum would direct you directly to your Internet service provider. I will demand to rule out your network start, and the information I provided will help with that.

I wait forward to working with you once yous're able to endeavour out everything that I've listed!

Hello,

1. I do not have a Turtle Beach headset.

2. I did a full power wheel. Still streaming is broken.

3. I don't have any firewall settings.

4. Here'south some info about my router. It'southward a Frontier FiOS gateway model FiOS-G1100. Information technology used to exist Verizon FiOS, and then Verizon sold their FiOS business in California to Borderland Communications.

5. I accept 25Mbps upload/download internet service. I did a speedtest at Speedtest.net and I'm getting over 25Mbps and then I meet the minimum network speeds for streaming. Run into beneath.

What other data would y'all like? Everything looks like it's in working gild. Equally I said before, devices other than the Xbox can stream videos without any issues. Those devices are on Wi-Fi and located near the Xbox. It's actually hard to bring a wired connectedness to the Xbox, since the Xbox is upstairs and my router is downstairs.

Thanks for that detailed answer!

While doing a speed test on your PC is good to see what speeds you should be getting, it doesn't actually explain what the console should get with how the console itself connects to Xbox Live. Your PC isn't the panel, and doesn't connect up to the cyberspace the same way. It gives a proficient ground, though.

If you click onFirewall in your gateway's interface, is information technology fix to Typical or Low? If it's set to Maximum, it's likely going to crusade some problems with the connection. Typical is the all-time selection, but you can always test it on Low to see what results you get.

If that's set accordingly, do you have the Xbox Alive ports open up on your gateway for the panel? Yous tin give that a shot, or set the console up to have a Static NAT (which is what we would generally call DMZ). Seems pretty easy according to the manual I constitute online for the FiOS-G1100 (Section vi.2 for port forwarding, Section 6.v for Static NAT). It appears that the port forwarding section might accept a drop down where you tin can select Xbox (makes anybody'south lives easier), but if not, you'll want to fix them up individually using these ports.

It is best to accept the console wired to test everything out, but I go that it can't be done sometimes. If you happen to have a Goggle box closer to the gateway to test it out, not motion it permanently, this will help me rule out the wireless side of things. However, information technology'due south not necessary. Let's get a traceroute done on the console, though. When yous go into the Network Settings, exercise this button sequence: LT RT RT LT RB LB. That will bring up the traceroute screen on the console. Select the top option, tracert.xboxlive.com. It should go through 12 hops before timing out for the rest; this is normal. Yet, if you have time outs anywhere else, let me know.

I remember this will be good places to start for now. To confirm with you, nosotros've tested over a few Xbox 360s here in the office and are not seeing what yous are. For now, we believe this to be localized either to your network or the panel y'all own. But we'll figure it out together! :)

Hi,

I'll get back to you on the Firewall setting, merely I'm not trying to connect to Xbox Alive. I'1000 trying to stream a video that's stored on a local NAS. And so this firewall and traceroute stuff is irrelevant, but I'll endeavour it out anyhow.

Also, I'll attempt moving the Xbox temporarily closer to the router with a wired connection.

Whatsoever the problem is seems to exist localized to this Xbox, since other devices (such as the smartTV that the Xbox is continued to can stream videos normally)

Thanks for trying that all out for me, ja1b1rd11! Everything does look corking, and I'm happy to see that. :)

Honestly, your download speeds shouldn't exist affecting streaming to a local NAS. It's going through your gateway to connect upwardly to that server, so the firewall inside that gateway could very well be blocking the Xbox from accessing certain things. Neither here nor in that location now, though.

Fun fact! I establish another person, on Verizon, with this aforementioned gateway having atrocious download speeds. He'south on an Xbox I. I have a theory that this situation is like a Comcast device given out years ago where the firmware didn't similar the type of NICs we used in the Xbox 360 for a wireless connexion. Your testing of a wireless adapter kind of helps solidify that since information technology'south a 3rd-political party device. Your guess of almost half-dozen months agone might also go with a firmware update to the device based on what I can find online (though that isn't as specific as I'd like); from what I can tell, a firmware update was released back in October, and has been likely rolling out to devices since then.

At this fourth dimension, my proffer is to employ the wireless adapter temporarily. I have a great network engineer looking into what might be going on with this device, and I've passed your data along to him. If I need yous to test annihilation or if I have any updates on what our next steps are with this, I'll mail service back here for yous.

So y'all know, you lot have now doneeverything I can recollect of on our finish to rule out the console as the issue (aside from wiring direct into the gateway, but my other guy did that and absolutely no difference for him). I've got the right guy looking into any potential issues that may be creeping upwardly with this device, and you lot take a skillful workaround for now. I'll keep you updated! :)
